# How to enable payments

In order to enable the pre-built payment flows that come with the template, you'll need to set the 'Selected Value' in the 'Payments Enabled' option of the 'Payments' option set to 'yes':

This will enable the following features:

* Freelancers [can sign up for a Stripe Express account](/freelancer-marketplace/key-payment-features/onboarding-freelancers.md) in the 'Profile' tab of the dashboard
* Customers can [authorize a payment](/freelancer-marketplace/key-payment-features/authorising-a-payment.md) when they submit a proposal for a job (this means the customer will submit the payment details via a Stripe, but it won't actually go through until the Freelancer accepts the job - see the '[Capturing a payment](/freelancer-marketplace/key-payment-features/capturing-a-payment.md)' section)
* Funds will be [paid out to the Freelancer's bank account](/freelancer-marketplace/key-payment-features/paying-funds-out-to-a-freelancer.md) after the job has been marked as complete by the customer
